For cavities of 130-145mm and inner leaves of 110-115mm, extreme load lintels are provided in a post-galvanised finish. These lintels are manufactured from a universal beam section and a 6mm structural grade steel plate (Grade S275 to BS EN 10025: 2004), and are hot dip galvanised after manufacture to BS EN ISO 1461: 1999. They are available in standard lengths with 50mm increments, up to 6600mm. As an optional feature, CXL lintels can be supplied with expanded metal mesh secured to the base plate. To achieve the specified load capacities, the lintel must be laterally restrained, have 200mm end bearing supports, and maintain inner-to-outer load ratios between 5:1 and 19:1. Additionally, a separate flexible DPC must be installed during construction to ensure proper functionality.
